A natural slate roof installed today will outlive the loan paying for it by 80 to 150 years. The asphalt alternative costs 40-60% less upfront but requires re-installation every 18-25 years. Over a 75-year hold horizon, slate is cheaper than asphalt — but you have to bridge the upfront-cost gap.
For qualifying projects, financing turns "I can\'t justify slate right now" into a monthly payment that fits the budget. We don't push financing as a default. We bring it up when the math works.
We\'re finalizing relationships with two roofing-industry financing partners: one for credit scores above 720 (lower-rate terms), one for credit scores 660-720 (broader approval). Once finalized, the application takes about 5 minutes online with no impact to your credit score until you sign.
In the meantime, financing is available on most projects above $25,000. The terms and lenders are discussed during your assessment, after we\'ve walked the roof and you have a real number to finance.
