Art Slate Roofing is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
artslate.benefitra.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Accessibility features in place
- Skip-to-main-content link at the top of every page
- Semantic HTML landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer)
- Visible focus indicators on every interactive element
- Full keyboard navigation, including the main menu (Tab, Enter, Escape)
- ARIA labels on icon-only and decorative controls
- Alt text on all informative images
- Color contrast meeting AA targets for body and primary headings
- Respects the operating system's prefers-reduced-motion setting — animations and marquees are disabled
- Responsive layout from 320px to 4K
- Designed to work with screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
Known limitations
Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet meet AA conformance:
- Some interior pages (services, neighborhood landing pages) are still being upgraded to match the homepage's accessibility improvements.
- The before/after image slider relies on pointer interaction; a non-pointer alternative is planned.
