A Back Bay row house with 1898 slate and original lead-coated copper gutters that had failed at the seams. The slate field was salvageable; the gutters were not. We replaced the gutters with new half-round bare copper on hidden hangers, hand-soldered every seam, and replaced the rusted-out flashing at every chimney and dormer with sweat-soldered 20-ounce copper.
