The original 1920s Tudor had a five-color slate roof — gray, green, purple, red, and black — laid in a graduated pattern. By the time the homeowners called us, two-thirds of the slate had been replaced piecemeal with mismatched grays. We sourced reclaimed slate from a Vermont quarry that matched all five original colors and reinstalled the entire roof to match the documented 1920s pattern from a single archival photograph.
