Legal is a Tier 3 vertical. High authority. Heavily regulated. Entrenched incumbents with deep pockets and decade old domain authority. Before any of the rankings happen, every page has to clear a much higher bar for accuracy, citation, and topical depth than anything we ship in moving or entertainment. Get one fact wrong on a law page and Google does not just rank you lower, the legal community will notice and cite the error.
The work that produced these numbers on this Tier 3 client was patient compounding. Topic clusters built around the questions real prospective clients actually search, not the questions a generalist content marketer thinks they search. Schema and citation depth on every authority article. Internal linking that flows authority into the head terms and outward into the long tail. Headline and metadata work that pulled a 2.04% click through rate, three to four times the typical legal vertical baseline.
The headline result is 279,229 Google clicks across 485 days. The strongest absolute volume performer in the prior engine portfolio. 13.66M impressions. 60% of THIS client's clicks now come from queries where the site ranks on page 1. 15.9% of the top 1,000 queries sit in Google's first three results, the densest top-3 footprint in our portfolio.
The single most striking line on the GSC export is the long-tail topic page that drives 17,000 clicks on its own. One article, written and structured correctly, compounding into the long tail of a regulated vertical until it became the de facto answer for a category of search intent. That is what authority compounding looks like in Tier 3. Slow at first. Then suddenly the field has no other rational answer to give. This is what is achievable in a heavy, regulated B2B vertical, with the right operator and a 485 day runway.
